blissful oblivion

the house that floats on the sea,

isolated enough

to make one forget, just for a while.

almost none have swum far enough,

to reach the house

of blissful oblivion,

just past the garden of Galaxea corals,

to the left of the oasis of anemones

just floating above the edge of the reef wall,

behind which lurk wild tigers, sharks with spikes, and a mirror

with no one’s reflection

though they never emerge from the darkened depths.

here, the house floats on a mirror,

unwilling to reflect

anything but the truth.

here, the sun drips every evening,

sinking below that blue line

that won’t ever be crossed,

no matter how fast and far one goes.

here, the wind listens

as the soul comes pouring out,

and carries secrets on its wings,

scattering the seeds of silence into the endless waves,

to be planted on some faraway island.

to make one forget

the house floats on the sea,

isolated enough

just for a while.

Another wonderful blog, you give us calm and beauty through the corals, the reefs, the waves, the ocean, the blue line and the floating house. Thank you for creating an oasis during this pandemic.
